Dudley Skyline

Dudley Council works hard to ensure its services continue to run during the winter period. However, some services will be affected by the severe weather.

There is an amber weather warning in place for strong winds and heavy rain for Friday 18 February, as storm Eunice is hitting the region.

We have 3,500 tonnes of grit and a fleet of eight gritters, to bolster a network of hundreds of grit bins across the borough if the weather takes a turn for the worst.

Below is a complete picture of how council services will be affected during the snow and ice. Remember, you can also keep up to date via our @dudleymbc twitter feed and 'dudley borough' facebook page.

You can also sign up to regular bulletins for information on the council's news, service, events and other information

Gritting and roads

A 65-strong team based at the council’s Lister Road depot keep more than 480 kilometres of road clear during severe weather. They are also gritting Covid-19 test centres and vaccination clinics and hubs as a matter of priority.

The team has refilled all grit bins, wherever it has been requested, over the last two weeks.

School closures

Most schools contact parents directly if there are any closures. We also advise you to check your school's website.

People are also advised to listen to local radio stations for up to the minute information and we have provided a selection of radio websites here which may offer additional information.

 Black Country Radio - 102.5FM
 Free Radio 97.2FM
 Heart FM 100.7FM
 BBC WM 95.6FM

Dudley Council's gritting team will continue to work wherever possible. If services are affected by the pandemic information will appear here.
