The book of remembrance and flower rooms are open on Monday to Friday, weekends and bank holidays.
The Council is a member of theFederation of British Cremation Authoritiesand complies with the strict code of practice, which determines the necessary high standard of crematoria.
We are members of the Confederation of Burial Authorities. At present we are also working towards the “Charter for the bereaved.”

Bereavement Services now offer aGenealogy Research Serviceto locate a person that is buried within one of the boroughs cemeteries. The online facility provides both the burial location and grave number.
There are two services of remembrance held in the Crematorium Chapel one at Christmas and one during the summer.
Everyone is welcome to attend. Notices are placed in the local press near to the date, as well as on this website – alternatively you may enquire at the office.
The services take approximately 45 minutes and after the ceremony all of the buildings are open for inspection. Members of staff are on hand to explain the various aspects of cremation and to answer any questions you may have.
