Essential website maintenance

We will be carrying out planned maintenance on www.dudley.gov.uk Tuesday 11 August, This may involve some disruption to the site. You will still be able to raise requests through our MyDudley portal and make online payments through our eStore. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Follow the Dudley Time Trail and find out about the history of our borough.

The Dudley town centre Time Trail consists of 30 bronze ground plaques and is split into three parts:

  • Castle Street and Dudley Market Place (approx. 45 minutes)
  • an optional detour from the Market Place to Upper High Street and Top Church (approx. 10 minutes)
  • the vicinity of Coronation Gardens (approx. 25 minutes).

Please take care when crossing the road. Where possible we have used pedestrian crossings along the trail but there are one or two places where there are no crossings available. It is recommended that a responsible adult accompany children on this walk.

The Time Trail starts in front of the Earl of Dudley statue on Castle Street.

Each of the plaques along the trail contains information that will help you answer the following questions on our activity sheet. Each of the numbers refers to a location on the map.
