The Options+ Leisure Discount Scheme

Options+ is a discount scheme that makes leisure activities in Dudley affordable for everyone. It offers significant savings to residents and non residents.

What do I get?

If you fit into one of the concessionary groups listed in the tab below, the following activities at Crystal Leisure Centre, Dudley Leisure Centre and Halesowen Leisure Centre are half price:

  • Public swimming and swimming lessons
  • Lifestyles gyms including induction
  • Fitness classes (facility run)
  • Badminton, squash, table tennis and racketball
  • Coaching courses
  • Four day advance booking for selected activities.

A 50% discount is also available when using the running track at the Dell Stadium

  • Universal Credit - Letter from Job Centre Plus

  • In receipt of Working Tax Credit - Award notice or Letter

  • Child in Residential Care - Letter from Dudley Council's Social Care
  • Apprenticeship Programme (dependents not included) - Letter from Learning Provider
  • Full Time Student 16+ years (dependents not included) - Full time student union card or letter from school, college or university
  • Pension Credit (guarantee element) - Award notice or letter
  • Attendance Allowance - Award notice or letter
  • UK Armed Forces Veteran (dependents not included) - Discharge papers or form, record of service, British veterans recognition card, pay statement or P60
  • UK Armed Forces Serving Personnel - Military ID Card

In addition, the dependents of cardholders (partner, spouse and children under 16 years living at the same address) are eligible to join the scheme. Please note exclusions apply.  

Will my partner/children be eligible?

Dependents of the main applicant will be eligible under all categories except for full time students, modern apprentices and Armed Forces Veteran. Dependent children must be under 16.

Please complete the application form and bring it in to one of the leisure centers, together with the relevant documents.

Please note that everyone applying to the scheme, including dependents must appear in person to apply.

How much does it cost?

Adults £5 for 12 months

Under 16's £2.50 for 12 months 

How do I sign up?

 

  1. You can apply by calling into either Crystal, Dudley or Halesowen leisure centre during normal opening hours and completing an application form. Alternatively you can print off and complete the application shown at the bottom of the page.
  2. You will need to bring with you proof of address (i.e. a recent utility bill with your name and address).
  3. You will need to bring with you proof of eligibility.

Please note that photographs will be taken of you at the leisure centre you visit, therefore everyone applying (including dependants) must appear in person.

Do not post the form as photographs need to be taken at the time of application.

Please note: Foster families should refer to Dudley Council's fostering team.

How long does the membership last for?

The membership lasts 12 months, after which you will need to re-apply (if you are eligible to).

What is a Dudley targeted postcode?

These neighbourhoods have been classified as areas of deprivation within the borough. Those applicants whose postcode is in one of these areas will be eligible to Options+.

What is the Carers Network?

Social Services have a Dudley Carers Network for carers who provide care and support to a family member or friend who has a long term illness or disability. Those listed on the Carers network are eligible to the Options+ scheme.

Can I use my membership straight away?

Yes

Can I apply even if I live outside the borough?

Yes, for all categories except:

  • Child in residential care
  • Dudley targeted postcode
  • Carers network

Dependants of the main applicant will be eligible under all categories except for:

  • Full time Students
  • Modern apprentices
  • Armed forces veterans.

Please note: All dependant children must be under 16 years of age.
