Children generally start nursery the term after their 3rd birthday, based on a 3 term year. Admissions to nursery school are handled by the nursery themselves. If you would like your child to attend nursery provision you should contact them direct and they will explain the arrangements for applying for a place.

Nursery School Admissions for Maintained Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools are set out in the admissions policy for local authority nurseries.

If you would like further information regarding nurseries, funding, provision, childminders please contact them on 01384 814398 or see Early Education Funding.

The Admissions Policy for Community and Voluntary Controlled Maintained Nursery Schools below sets out how the available places will be allocated for local authority run nursery units. You will need to contact private run nurseries direct for their admission arrangements.

Note: Attendance at a nursery attached to a primary school will not guarantee admission to that particular primary school or give any advantage to the pupil in the admissions process.
