Training Programmes

A number of training courses are available to help support development for you and your staff.

  • Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Childcare Professional Development Training Programmes including details on e-learning.

Managing and developing your business

Business planning, marketing, funding and feasibility are all key components of setting up and running a successful business.  Support is available for you on a whole range of business issues.

Childcare Strategy team

The Childcare Strategy Team consists of two teams who support early years and childcare providers across the borough in relation to:

Early Education Funding:

• Targeted 15 hour free entitlement for 2 year olds, known as Time for Twos
• Universal 15 hour free entitlement for 3 and 4 year olds
• Targeted 30 hour free entitlement for 3 and 4 year olds of some working parents, known as Extra Time
• Early Years Inclusion Funding (EYIF)
• Disability Access Funding
• Early Years Pupil Premium

Childcare Provider Support:

• Setting up childcare provision, including Ofsted registration guidance and business planning, marketing and finance
• Statutory Childcare and Early Years place Sufficiency including Market Management
• Support and Challenge in maintaining the Safeguarding and Welfare requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• Planning, commissioning and delivery of Safeguarding and Welfare mandatory training courses
• Workforce development including safer recruitment and qualifications
• Development of Childminding services

Safeguarding for providers / professionals

Health and Wellbeing

The Dudley Healthy Settings Award is due to be launched in September 2019 and will recognise the invaluable work early years, school and college settings undertake to promote healthy behaviours and support children and young people to lead a healthy lifestyle both now and in the future. Read more.

Early Years Inclusion Fund (EYIF)
