Once you have both given 'notice' at your local register office(s) we will confirm your booking in writing and send you an information pack outlining the choices and the options available to help you to personalise your ceremony and make your day extra special.

Ceremony choices and payments

Please read through the information and make your selections. The 'choices' form needs to be completed and returned to Priory Hall as soon as possible, and no later than three months before your ceremony, so that we can prepare your ceremony in advance.

Ceremonies need to be paid for in full no later than three months before the ceremony day.

To make this easier you can pay for your ceremony and submit your choices online.

You can also request and pay for ceremony 'extras' online with a debit or credit card.

You will need your unique ceremony reference which is printed at the top right-hand corner of our letters. Please email and we will email you the reference number if you cannot find it.

If you would like some help planning your ceremony and making your selections after you have made your booking with us, you can arrange to meet with one of our ceremony coordinators who will be happy to help. Please do not book a planning meeting before you have given notice and received your choices form.

Classic ceremonies

Priory Suite and Wollescote Suite ceremonies offer the widest choice; they can be low key or include all the bells and whistles! Our classic ceremony includes dad walking the bride down the aisle, choices of music and vows along with a stunning photographic opportunity in the bay window at Priory Hall or framed in the doorway at the Thomas Robinson Building. Couples wanting something extra special can upgrade their classic ceremony to a tailor-made ceremony and get an occasion truly personal to them.

Tailor-made ceremonies

For couples looking for something extra special that is totally personalised to them, there is an opportunity to upgrade from our classic ceremony to a tailor-made ceremony. Included in your tailor-made ceremony are the dedicated services of our ceremony team, 25 personalised invitations and a ceremony planning meeting. The cost of a tailor-made ceremony is £50.

Personalised wedding stationery

Designed exclusively for us, personalised wedding stationery is now available from Dudley Register Office.  Couples can choose from three designs all available in either premium card or luxury Conqueror hammered card.

Ceremony planning meeting

There are lots of choices available and decisions to make about your ceremony, do you want to be given away? What music to play? Add a sand ceremony? What time to arrive? Wedding stationery to choose... wedding cars to book... flowers... photographers... For £25 you can book a ceremony planning meeting where one of our experienced ceremony coordinators can help and guide you through all your choices, book your ceremony extras and take all the hassle away so you can enjoy your day.

I do 2 pre-loved bridal gowns

A selection of once-worn bridal gowns are available at Dudley Registrar's I-do-2 bridal dress agency now located in our very own bridal boutique at the Thomas Robinson Building, Cemetery Road, Stourbridge DY9 8AN.

Wedding bargain hunters who want to look stunning on their special day are in luck, because pre-loved wedding gowns are now available to purchase at the boutique.

A selection of pre-loved designer and off-the-peg bridal gowns are available at the I-do-2 bridal boutique. Many of the gowns on sale are brand new and have never been worn. The majority of the gowns are being sold on behalf of Mary Stevens Hospice and 75% of the sale price goes directly to the charity. Bag a bargain and do a good deed!

Gowns can be viewed by appointment only so that we can make sure we have a member of staff available to help you. We can offer appointments on Saturdays as well as midweek. Please email or call 01384 815373 to arrange an appointment.

Come along to one of our 'bridal showers' where you will be able to try dresses on and snap up a bargain.

Sand ceremonies

Enhance your marriage with a Sand Ceremony. A sand ceremony is a unique way of personalising your marriage or civil partnership ceremony. The combining of different coloured sands symbolises the life-long commitment being made and the joining of two lives. Children can be included as well, to symbolise the blending of families. It is a very simple idea that can be beautifully romantic and incredibly powerful.

Photography packages

Couples holding a ceremony at Priory Hall or the Thomas Robinson Building can now book a photography package with us.

Standard package only £199 and Premium package available for £249

This service is provided in partnership with fully insured, professional wedding photographers.

Bridal flowers

We are working in partnership with a local florist to offer our brides our own bridal flower service.

For just a minimal order of £50:

  • Hand tied bouquet for the bride £50
  • Hand tied bouquet for the bridesmaids £25
  • Hand tied posy for the flower girls £15
  • Button holes £5 each or 20 for £85 and 50 for £200
  • Corsages for the mums £8 each

All available in cream, pastel or vibrant colours, themed to match your colour scheme. Just order and pay the registrars directly when arranging your ceremony. Your flowers will be waiting for you when you arrive at your ceremony venue.

Wedding cars

Couples celebrating at Priory Hall and the Thomas Robinson Building can now choose to arrive in style using our very own wedding car service.

Personalised confetti cones

Confetti Cones are available for Priory Hall and Thomas Robinson ceremonies

25 cones for £35 or 50 cones for £65

As your guests exit the ceremony room they can help themselves to a cone full of confetti to shower the happy couple with. Our cones are filled with gorgeous Shropshire flower petals. All of our petals are 100% natural, eco-friendly and biodegradable, just like blossom off the tree! They are all completely natural in colour so no dyes are ever added.

Made from ivory parchment paper, our cones are personalised to show your names and the date of your ceremony.

Welcome boards and dressed chairs can be booked with other ceremony extras on-line.

Terms and Conditions

  • The fee must be paid in full at the time of booking.
  • The welcome board and/or dressed chairs provided for ‘hire’ at your ceremony venue only and cannot be taken away.
  • Dudley Registration Service will prepare the board/chairs for your ceremony and they will be in situ for 30 minutes before your ceremony time and for the duration of your ceremony.
  • Our welcome boards and chairs are only available for couples marrying in the Priory Suite or Wollescote Suite.
  • Cancellations received more than 3 months before the ceremony date will receive 50% refund, for cancellations received after this time, no refund will be given.
    Discount is only available when both booked at the same time.
  • Only the couple’s  two chairs will be dressed.

Luxury marriage certificate boxes available for only £10 each.

Makes the perfect keepsake for your marriage certificate and keeps your certificate safe and in perfect condition. Just roll up your certificate and tie it with the ribbon supplied.

Ideal gift for the happy couple!

Order one using our online ceremony choices and payments form - if we are marrying you we will present your certificate box to you on the day, and if you are marrying elsewhere we will email you to let you know when it is ready for collection from Priory Hall.


If you are feeling a bit nervous about how everything will go on the day you may like to book a ceremony rehearsal for £45. An experienced registration officer will run through your ceremony with you and confirm all the arrangements so there are no big surprises on the day. We suggest you do this within a month of your ceremony.

Please use the online ceremony choices and payments form to pay for a rehearsal - when we receive your payment we will email or call you to arrange a date and time.

Wedding gifts and memories

Designed exclusively for our couples, we are delighted to offer a selection of wedding gifts and mementos. Ideal as a gift for your loved one or to give to the newlyweds. Featuring our specially commissioned Priory Hall or Thomas Robinson Building sketches along with your wedding date and names, each gift is uniquely hand-made in the Black Country.

Newlyweds passport

If you are planning to apply for a new your passport before you marry or form a civil partnership, this can be done in your new name within three months of your ceremony date by sending a completed PD2 form with your application to the passport office. Visit the website for full details and to download a form.

Send your completed form to the Register Office within three months of your ceremony with a stamped addressed envelope; we will sign it and post it back to you.

Re-registering your child's birth

If the natural parents have married after the child was born, they are required by law to re-register the birth to have the natural father’s details added to the birth record. If the father's details are already on the birth certificate you are still required to re-register to update the birth record and new birth certificates can then be issued showing the new information.

You must use form LA1 to re-register your child’s birth. Visit for more information and to download an application form.

Bring a completed LA1 form to the register office along with their birth certificate and your marriage certificate. After we have checked the form through we will contact you to book an appointment for one of the parents to attend to re-register the birth. Please note that births are re-registered in the district where they occurred.

IMPORTANT: Please read our terms and conditions carefully before booking your ceremony. These terms tell you how Dudley Council will provide Dudley Registration & Celebratory Services to you, how you and Dudley Council may change or end the booking and what to do if there is a problem and other important information.

By booking with Dudley Registration & Celebratory Services you are deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions.

Covid-19 restrictions

Ceremonies currently taking place are subject to Covid-19 restrictions. This is likely to apply to ceremonies for some time. 

We are required to minimise the time spent within the building. For this reason we will not invite guests into the building until a few minutes before the ceremony is due to begin.
