The purpose of the Dudley Environmental Education Service is to provide a high quality, comprehensive and cost-effective curriculum development and environmental awareness service to all Dudley Schools.
The service objective is to increase the environmental awareness of people of Dudley Borough and to help school children understand and appreciate the natural and built environment.
Working within the Development office of the Directorate of Education and Lifelong Learning, the team liaise with Advisory staff, other Council directorates and voluntary organisations with a responsibility for education and awareness raising.
The service is based at the Dudley Environment Zone, Roberts Primary School, Lower Gornal and offers a curriculum advice and consultancy service in schools and other settings across the borough. As well as offering individual teacher, school and classroom-based support, the service provides organised school and teacher training visits to the Environment Zone and other nature reserves across the borough and beyond.
The new Ezone online digital curriculum service offers a wide range of exciting classroom and environmental resources. Materials cover all Key Stages and have been designed for both computers and whiteboard use. The service also provides information and practical help to schools in creating natural areas within their grounds from design through implementation to planning for management, and are also available for classroom activities and to lead walks and talks. The service can also help you to set up projects specifically linked to the National Curriculum. We also participate in INSET Days in conjunction with the Advisory staff and organise activities for events such as Environment Weeks, National Tree Week, Wildflower Week and Dudley Bulb Week.
