Yellow Heat Health Alert
The UK Health Security Agency has issued a Yellow Heat Health Alert for the West Midlands from 12pm on 4 July to 8pm on 11 July 2026. These alerts are a reminder for everyone to take extra care during the hot weather and to look out for those who may need additional support. There are nearly 3 million accidents at home each year where someone visits an accident and emergency department for treatment. In addition, there are a similar number of cases where someone is treated by a general practitioner as well as the millions of minor cases which are treated at home. Every year there are over 3,000 deaths in the UK due to accidents at home.
