School admissions are open each year for you to apply online for both primary and secondary attendance for the following year. Secondary applications can be made from 1st September, Primary applications can be made from 1st October.

Admission appeals for the 2020 school intake

Due to the current Covid-19 situation, we are monitoring government guidance and currently considering the impact of the Coronavirus on admission appeals. The Appeals Panel are unpaid volunteers and there may be unavoidable delays this year due to the virus outbreak.

In year admissions

As schools are now closed for the foreseeable future, all work in relation to in year admissions has been been put on hold. Please contact School Admissions once schools have reopened.

Primary admissions September 2020

We are aiming to still meet the allocation date of 16 April 2020. However, this may be subject to change at any point and will be guided by DfE.

The Admissions Policy for Community and Voluntary Controlled Maintained Nursery Schools at the bottom of this page sets out how the available places will be allocated for local authority run nursery units. You will need to contact private run nurseries direct for their admission arrangements.

Admission Arrangements 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22

School admission arrangements set out how schools will admit pupils.

The arrangements include the published admission number (the maximum number of pupils intended to be admitted to the relevant year group), the oversubscription criteria and information on the waiting list for the school.

Education outside chronological year group (Delaying, Deferring)

Guidance is available for parents, carers and schools, when considering requests for children to be educated out of their chronological year group.  The guidance relates children being educated in the year group below, or the year group above their chronological age.  It does not relate to situation where pupils are in mixed-age classes.
