Dudley Citizenship & Registration Services

The service provides for the statutory registration of births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships in the registration district of Dudley Metropolitan Borough. The Register Office is located at Priory Hall, Priory Park, Dudley. A registrar is also available, by appointment only, to register births and deaths at Stourbridge Registration Office and Dudley Council Plus.

Priory Hall and Thomas Robinson Building open days

Don't miss our annual open days giving couples looking to tie the knot an opportunity to look around the venue and grounds. The events are attended by various wedding related service providers and all visitors can enter their names in a free draw to win a Priory Suite or Wollescote Suite wedding! Our next Thomas Robinson Building open day is on 6 October 2018 and the next Priory Hall open day is 2 March 2019.

Register a Birth

A birth must be registered in the registration district where the baby was born. If your baby was born in Russells Hall Hospital or elsewhere within the Dudley Borough, this can be at Dudley Council Plus, Dudley Register Office or Stourbridge Registration Office. Please call 0300 555 2345 to arrange an appointment.

You can choose to use our tell us once service when registering the birth.

Re-Register a Birth

To re-register your child's birth following the marriage of the natural parents or to add the natural father's details to the birth please visit www.gov.uk/adding-fathers-name-birth-certificate where you can download an application form.

Register a Death

A death must be registered in the registration district in which it took place and should be done within 5 days of the death.

If the death occurred within the Dudley Borough, this can be at Dudley Council Plus, Dudley Register Office or Stourbridge Registration Office. Please call 0300 555 2345 to arrange an appointment.

Marriage and Civil Partnership

Couples wishing to marry or register a civil partnership in the Dudley Borough can choose to hold a ceremony at Priory Hall or the Thomas Robinson Building. Priory Hall is located within Priory Park and the venue offers fantastic photograph opportunities. The Wollescote Suite is in our exciting new venue, in the Thomas Robinson Building (formerly Lye and Wollescote Chapels).

The fastest way to obtain birth, marriage, civil partnership and death certificates is to apply and pay online.

If you prefer you can download certificate application forms and apply by post enclosing a cheque or postal order payable to Dudley MBC.

Change of Name Deed

deed poll service is available at Dudley Register Office for anyone wishing to change their name.

Citizenship Ceremonies

A person can apply to the Home Office to become a British Citizen. The naturalisation process requires successful applicants to attend a citizenship ceremony.

A European Passport Return Service (EPRS) is available Monday to Friday only between 9am - 12.00pm at Priory Hall.
