The Group brings together service users and officers from across the Directorate to discuss and to enable issues of accessibility to be fed into service provision.
Disabled Facilities Grants are available following an assessment and recommendation by an Occupational Therapist. Grants are normally the means by which adaptations in privately owned property are funded (the housing department funds adaptations in council owned property).
The Equality Act gives disabled people important rights of access to everyday services. The Council has made adjustments to premises and services to make them accessible for everyone. Our attractions such as museums, leisure centres and public buildings vary in their facilities and what they have to offer disabled people.

Dudley Social Care has a duty to assess the needs of physically disabled children and adults with the aim of promoting, encouraging and maintaining the independence of the individual.
