Dudley Council
Dudley Skyline

We are dedicated to supporting children, young people and families in the Dudley borough.

We may be able to help you by:

  • providing a chance to talk about any problems
  • giving information, advice, practical help and support in your home
  • helping with information about local nurseries, childminders, playgroups, parent and toddler groups, and short breaks for children with special needs
  • supporting young people with problems
  • helping people to share concerns about a child or adult’s safety or welfare with the right people

In addition to supporting families we have a duty to protect children and young people who are at risk of neglect or abuse and support them if a court decides they can no longer remain with their own family.

Adoption and Fostering

We always need adoptive families and foster carers, if you could give a child a loving home why not visit our Fostering or Adoption pages for more information.

Child and Adolescent Mental Health

The Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a multi-disciplinary service providing assessments and treatment for young people who have complex and severe behavioural or emotional difficulties. The team is made up of clinical psychiatrists; clinical psychologists; social workers; nurses; occupational therapists and psychotherapists working side by side.

Referrals are via G.P's or other health professionals and via Dudley Social Services.

Dudley Children and Young People's Alliance (CYPA)

CYPA provides the overall leadership for the delivery of improved outcomes for children and young people in Dudley and their transition into adulthood.

Early help for children and families

Early Help is taking action early to provide support where problems are emerging for children, young people and their families. Early help support may be provided at any point in a child or young person’s life.
