Dudley’s Housing Board was formally set up and approved by Full Council in October 2014, and is now firmly established to provide the community based scrutiny function of the Housing Service. Although the Housing Board has an advisory role, as a board member, there is an expected duty to act in the best interest of tenants, residents, leaseholders and customers. The collective benefit is to improve decision making, provide challenge, and to ensure that high quality services and best value for money are delivered.

The Board is a group of volunteers who meet every quarter with Councillors and officers to look at how Housing is performing, discuss improvements, and investment opportunities for the future.

Board members serve a term of 3 years, which can be extended subject to an assessment of performance in the role.
