Following a review of the Nature Conservation SPD, the Council adopted a revised SPD in September 2016.
The planning process has a significant role to play in protecting and enhancing nature conservation resources for current and future generations, recognising the importance of the natural environment and the benefits it brings to local communities including the physical exercise and mental health well-being benefits of natural green space.
This SPD sets out detailed guidance for protecting and enhancing nature conservation within Dudley Borough and is aimed at all those involved in the submission and determination of planning applications where nature conservation needs to be considered.
